About Polaris

We named ourselves after the one star that doesn't move.

For centuries, travellers found their way by Polaris — the fixed point in a turning sky. Admissions can feel like the opposite: noise, hearsay, and agents whose advice bends toward their own commission. We exist to be the fixed point — honest counsel that doesn't move with the payout, from people who've made the journey themselves.

Our mission

To give every ambitious student the honest guidance the moment deserves.

The biggest decisions of a young life shouldn't be steered by hidden incentives. Polaris puts expert, independent admissions counsel — the kind once reserved for the well-connected few — within reach of students who are ready to aim high and be told the truth about how to get there. We don't sell certainty. We give you clarity, a real strategy, and a partner whose interests are perfectly aligned with yours.

Our philosophy

Four principles. Nothing precious about any of them — just how we work.

I

Independence

We take no money from universities. None. You hire us, and that single fact keeps our advice clean — the school list, the strategy and the honest "no" are all yours, never bought.

II

Outcomes over paperwork

Anyone can fill in a form. We win admission and funding — by shaping how you're positioned, which schools you target, and the story your application tells. The deliverable is a result, not a checklist.

III

Lived experience

Our counsel comes from people who've sat in the applicant's seat at top programs and come out the other side. We don't guess what wins admission and funding. We've earned it ourselves.

IV

Candor

We tell you the truth — about your odds, your essays, your reach schools — even when it isn't what you hoped to hear. That honesty is the whole point, and it's exactly how you improve.

The founders

Guided by people who've made the journey.

Polaris was built by graduates of top U.S. business schools who navigated the admissions process themselves — and decided students deserved counsel free of commissions and full of candor.
